The Reference Block is useful tool in a magnetic particle inspection equipment line. The Reference Block utilizes a residual magnetic field to detect small and medium cracks that have been induced onto the surface through a special treatment process. The surface is then ground and coated. The disc is used to test the performance of the magnetic particle inspection materials and lighting environment being used and to check the sensitivity of the NDT materials on a daily basis for degradation and/or bath contamination.
