Wholly owned subsidiary specializes in MICR Inks
Hinckley, IL; January 21, 2015 – Circle Systems, Inc. (Circle Systems) has announced its acquisition of Lake Industries, Inc. in St. Mary’s, Georgia. They will now operate as Lake Industries, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Circle Systems. Lake Industries has been a technology partner of Circle Systems for the past 18 years and will continue in that role while also continuing their other business of manufacturing and marketing MICR Inks which are black magnetic inks used in check printing.
Circle Systems is recognized in the NDT industry for its magnetic particle inspection materials including the Mi-Glow®, CircleSafe®, and Sir-Chem® product lines. “The technological expertise at Lake Industries has been beneficial to us in our ongoing efforts to develop new and improved products for use in magnetic particle inspection”, said Mark Erlanson, President of Circle Systems. “We look forward to our continued technology partnership with Lake Industries and we are excited to enter the MICR ink market with them.”
Lake Industries manufactures magnetic inks also known as MICR inks mainly used in check printing. Their main products include Magnetic Encapsulated Inks for Offset and Numbering printers. Until this acquisition, Lake Industries’ products were mainly sold under other companies’ brands and labels.
Circle Systems will continue its ongoing research with Lake Industries to advance the technology of magnetic particle inspection products. Lake Industries will utilize the additional resources that Circle Systems can provide to expand its marketing efforts in MICR inks. As part of this new marketing approach, effective January 15, 2015 Lake Industries will market to end users through its new in-house distributor, Lake Ink.
